The Indigenous Humans--Shakarans

"The saraha Of A Hundred deep . . ."

The world exists as a temporary platform within an eternal force of Magic. There are primarily two types of magic that has most affect;

That which the objects of the world have been woven around (arcane), and

That which the people of the world have been woven around (divine).

The "Object-magic" can only be manipulated by specially-born people. The "People-magic", on the other hand, is guided by itself and is motivated by itself. That is to say, "People-magic" acts in itself as if it were a person and has always been called Sh’kah and so its children call themselves and their land by its' name.

The wisewomen ("saraha") of every village ("deep") teach the following to every Shakaran child;

"We Shakarans are aware of "Object-magic" but we have been in communion with Sh’kah. It has been the key to our survival. It has sustained us for centuries before the Peridyymians colonized the shores. Our elven neighbors had exposed us to the concept that Sh’kah uses stewards from otherplaces which direct it's forces for the sake of their own devotees, and these devotees (the elves) call them ‘gods’.

"To us it doesn't seem necessary. Shakarans have witnessed the favor of Sh’kah, without the use or need of ‘gods’ for a very long time."

When Peridyym came to the Shakarans, they were exposed to a new knowledge; that "object-magic" can be learned and used by those who are not special born. Those that the Peridyymians call "wizards" have shown the Shakarans how they use "object-magic" to build their nation and they promised that both Shakara and Peridyym would find new strength and survival if they joined together and helped them colonize.

In exchange, they would taught some of their warriors how to be "wizards" . The hundred (our cabal of saraha) decided to accept Peridyym’s offer, although they yet have reserved some cultural assets for Shakaran ears only.
