The Secret Lives Of The Elves

The Elves of Peridyym

The Oiomaire

The elves who live here are as at home in the piney barrens as on the open, frigid plains which surround them. These are the Wild Elves of lore, who have lived in these woods for untold generations. Their chieftain is Rauthelian Silvertree. They take the humans of Peridyym with the gravity of any dangerous herd animal. Unless one means to take control of the stampede, it's easiest to avoid them lest you are trampled. The Oiomaire share these woods with a great many other race of creature. Gnomes and halflings are known in great number here and many of the wilder Shakarans have learned excellent bowcraft from the tribes of the Wild Elves.

The Nenenonde

These are the reclusive Wood Elves who are rarely seen, despite the infestation of Peridyymian humans throughout the lower peninusula.
Their queen is Pwyderan Meliamne who deal with the human settlers as they continue to blunder into the woods and happen upon elven Houses, imagining they can take whatever they fancy that they had found. It is the Queen's hope that after enough of the humans' bodies are delivered to the borders of the woods the human King will move toward peace.

The Envanya

From the Envanyan courts come the preserved lore of dozens of millenia, the recorded knowledge of magics and gods, and what walked the land in the times between. These are the Gold Elves, also known as Sun Elves, and their racial station has exacted a life of high vigilance of them, for this knowledge is sacred to these Elves. They are ruled by a Council of Five, who employ several high and powerful magics to seperate themselves from the Shakaran and prepare themselves against the encroach of Peridyym.
Relatively few in number, compared to their Moon Elf cousins across the sea, they find open warfare might prove tragic unless they can unite the Nenenonde and Oiomaire to rebuff, and if need be, overthrow the Peridyymians. So far, Queen Meliamne maintains her own methods of staving off human incursion, and Chieftain SilverTree has never really seemed to value the secrets of the snobbish Sun Elves.

The Ta'rie

These tribes of elves are the most numerous and most intact stock of elves out of the two continents. They are the Moon, or Silver elves. Their societies are about as diverse as any in human lands, teaching many skills and having many classes of profession among their kind. They have farmed several dozen expansive and awe-inspiring worldtrees which easily house the same number of elves as any two capital Peridyymian cities.
The Moon elves are also the friendliest of the elves, and they freely interact with the Shakaran human. Many of Peridyym's known half-elves come from the communities of the Ta'rie. The disposition of the Moon elves make their lands a natural spawning ground for every kind of Fey folk as well, and even the trees and meadows of their forests have been witnessed as having enchantments.

The Malderien

The Malderien are very similar to the Oiomaire in their feriocity and their isolationism. However, they also have been embroiled in warfare with their Drow cousins for hundreds of years and so do not share any feeling of lighthearted community. They are stealthy guerilla fighters who have made the art of warfare their personal triumph.

The Drow

The society of the Drow lay chiefly in the mountains in the southwestern corner of the Second Continent and their evil influence and power is hampered by the vigilance of the Malderien. No one knows what plans unfurl in the catacombs of their cities, for no living spy has come forth to report.
